1920's baseball and Korean MMO getting anime adaptations

Alright, who's ready for some baseball? And not the usual Major-type stuff, either. I'm talking full-out 1925-style rules here. The Taisho Yakyuu Musume novels (Taisho Baseball Girls) are going to be adapted into an anime, according to October issue of Monthly Comic Ryuu. The books are about two girls who want to start a baseball team in Japan, despite not knowing the rules, how to swing a bat, or even have enough people for the team.

While I'm rather happy to see a non-traditional sports anime, I'm worried that the series might end up getting turned into a "here's how baseball works" series. With no word yet on who the studio is that's working on this, or anything else related to those who will be working on the project, so I'll hold off on any judgements. Here's to hoping someone like BONES is handling the project.

The other adaptation comes from our good friend Gia, who went ahead and translated an article giving us details about a new sword-and-sorcery type anime coming out called Dungeon & Fighter. The series will spring forth from the loins of Gonzo, so don't expect anyone to wear any pants. Quoth Gia:

The main character, Baron, suffers from the curse as well: his right arm is that of a demon. One day he stumbles upon a possessed sword named Roxy (Rokushii), and together they journey to try and end the curse– joined by a colorful cast of characters they meet on the way.

The staff has titles like Red Garden, Xam'd: Lost Memories, and Ookiku Furikabutte under their belts, so while the series doesn't appear to be one that worries about plot (as most MMOs are wont to do), this might be another interesting one that we'll find up on Crunchyroll sooner than expected.
