As silly as it sounds to make a movie based off the game of Bingo, the BINGO movie takes the basic concept of Bingo and uses it as a means to execute prisoners. In order to make these deaths interesting, the families of the prisoners are the ones that are controlling their lives by tagging them with the numbers. If the actual rules of Bingo apply to this game, then the prisoners that don't get picked when the game ends might end up surviving until the next game.
To those that got to watch Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, Kazuki Shimizu (Don Dogoier aka Gokai Green) is playing the role of the main character that ends up getting the death sentence as a framed victim. From the looks of it, AKB48's Sakiko Matsui will probably play the role of the character that is trying to prove the main character's innocence before he gets killed in the game of Bingo.
Besides the opportunity to see Shimizu in a more serious role, the darker take on the game of Bingo sounds like an interesting premise for a prison themed movie. Since Shimizu's character is innocent, there is a chance that the true culprit will contribute towards a big twist in the film.
With the exception of the Warner Michael Cinemas, BINGO will be shown in Japanese theaters everywhere on September 22nd.
