New info from Breath of Fire 6 emerges

I agreed with Elliot's assessment of the initial information and photos from Breath of Fire 6: Guardians of the White Dragon. That initial art looked pretty generic and at least I felt that the BoF franchise deserved better t...

Feast your eyes on the latest gameplay trailer for my favorite Samurai Warriors clone -- Sengoku Basara 4. Okay, I admit calling it a Samurai Warriors clone might be a bit much, but it's difficult to overlook all the si...

Fire Emblem lends Monster Hunter Frontier G some threads

The MMO iteration of the popular Monster Hunter series never did release outside of Japan, so here comes a partnership with Nintendo to rub a handful of salt in the wounds. Remember that rather popular Fire Emblem from earli...

It's Over!

Due to his lack of experience with fighting opponents outside of the Akuma and Noah Clan, Allen Walker wasn't GAR enough to go up against Kazuma the Shell Bullet. All it took was one Shocking First Bullet to the face, and the white-haired exorcist went down in a matter of seconds. Kazuma wins! (9 > 0)

There’s something fulfilling about brutally stabbing your opponent with a giant stake after pummeling them with a barrage of heavy missiles and bullets. That being said, of course it's time to feature a brawl between two machines that love to impale their foes in the most brutal way possible.

Big savings on Ace Attorney Trilogy HD right now! photo
Big savings on Ace Attorney Trilogy HD right now!
by Eric Koziol

Ace Attorney 5 got an English release recently, but maybe you are not caught up on the series. Finding the DS releases of the first three games might take some effort and maybe you carry your iPhone around more than your 3DS. Good news. You can snag the HD trilogy for $4.99 right now. That’s the first there games with updated graphics for less than what? A cup of coffee? The individual games go for more if you buy them separately. This is a great deal.

I have been playing it myself and it's easy to say that the iPhone is an even better platform for these games. The touch controls work just like you’d expect, and playing it in the vertical mode allows for easy one handed investigations. If I had a complaint it’d be that it is still in the non-iPhone5 resolution, but I hardly notice it in general.

The download is free and the first two episodes can be played without spending any money, but this is a Thanksgiving sale. If you’re interested, I’d grab it now. Five bucks gets you a lot of content.

It's Over!

It's hard to believe that Soma's having trouble with this battle. The man is able to wield the souls of various creatures and entities. On top of that, a good number of his weapons contain holy and/or magical properties. Then again, none of his abilities have the power to destroy an entire planet, so the Dark Candidate's attacks weren't able to take out all of Nero's parts in one go. After Soma depletes his own energy, Chaos devours him with his Soil of Genesis. Nrvnqsr Chaos wins! (5 > 2)

Now that we're done with October themed battle fest, I think that it’s about time that we return to the basics of fighting. Thanks to a suggestion from my good old buddy, Baron Von Vogl, we’re going to have a good old boxing match during this week’s fight!

It's Over!

Blade may be an amazing character in his own medium, but his swordsman skills could not match D's 1,000 years of experience. When the Daywalker realized that he couldn't stand up to Dracula's son head on, he resorts to his arsenal of throwing weapons. However, Left Hand's actions ensured that Blade's projectiles were rendered useless. In other words, the Dhampir gets the perfect opportunity to cut Blade down. D wins! (9 > 1)

We're arriving at the third week of October, and I’m going to have a battle centered around a certain book by Mary Shelley. The only difference is that our two fighters are not from the same medium. However, most of you will appreciate the connection, since it is part of the holiday spirit.

The twisty turnabout timeline of Phoenix Wright photo
The twisty turnabout timeline of Phoenix Wright
by Ben Huber

OBJECTION! The cry rings through the court. His arm is raised outward with an accusatory finger pointing at the witness stand, commanding the attention of the entire room. Silence. Even the prosecution is taken aback at this outburst. Who could wrest control of an entire courtroom so easily? What kind of bizarre character would wear a bright blue suit and contrasting magenta tie to a trial? Why would this person cross-examine a... parrot? Wait, a parrot is on the witness stand?

Welcome to Phoenix Wright's world. It's a little crazy here.

Ace Attorney, or Gyakuten Saiban (Turnabout Trial) in Japan, is probably familiar to you. The series began in Japan and quickly gained a fan following there. Once it made the jump to the Americas, fans warmly accepted it and the attorney soon became one of Capcom's most beloved game series -- despite it being frequently described as a "cult" series. But Phoenix Wright has been in more than just video games. He's perhaps traversed almost every media format out there! So let's take a trip down memory lane... I bet there's some things Phoenix has done that you never knew about.

Here is another Monster Hunter themed 3DS!

Well now, this is odd. A new Monster Hunter 4 limited edition 3DS was announced, which in and of itself is not weird, but read that carefully. 3DS. Not 3DSXL. Weird, since the XL seems to be the big deal now, does i...

TGS 2013: The shopping of TGS

No game show is complete without a place where you can buy lots of branded goods. TGS is certainly no exception to that rule. While it occupies a fairly small space on the show floor, TGS' merchandise area still has plenty of...
