Square Enix and Yen Press announce worldwide digital partnership photo
Square Enix and Yen Press announce worldwide digital partnership
by Brad Rice

Yen Press and Square Enix just announced a partnership to put eBook versions of 175 manga titles online, giving the English-language versions of Square Enix's manga worldwide reach. Starting April 8, you'll be able to access some of Yen Press's most popular titles through Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Google, and Kobo digital platforms.

Initially the service will start with just Soul Eater, Black Butler, and Doubt, but Yen Press will roll out more titles throughout April and the coming months. It gives you something to look forward to each week!

In addition to that, Soul Eater, Soul Eater NOT!, and Secret will all see weekly chapter releases in digital form, starting on April 14th. It's a way to keep fans reading in between the volume releases.

I'll admit that I'm a little surprised they didn't announce joining Comixology, which seems to be the go-to place for reading American comics. It's the industry standard for Marvel and DC, and it's not a bad market to tap into. Comixology might not be available in every marketplace, but it's still worth a shot, no?

Check out the full press release after the jump.

Japanator's 2013 Holiday Guide: Manga photo
Japanator's 2013 Holiday Guide: Manga
by Brad Rice

Black Friday has already come and gone, which means that the days are quickly counting down before you need a gift. Bookstores are still a viable retailer for manga, which saves you with that last-minute gift.

Are you standing in front of the aisle this very minute, unsure of what to buy? Don't worry, we've got you covered.

Manga makes a great gift (much better than anime or videogames) because you can easily add on based on how much you like the person. Secret Santa at your anime club? One volume. College buddy? Three volumes. Your significant other? A complete series.

Follow me after the jump, and we'll delve into all the titles you should buy this season.
