If Naruto has anything, anything at all, it has a buttload of ninjas. Not just a buttload, a crapton, a crazy-heap, an ass-pile, or any other ridiculous non-word you can come up with to indicate ta large amount of ninjas.
Obviously, then, any fighting game that wishes to do the spirit of Naruto justice must bring an appropriate level of ninja craptonnage. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 aims to do just that, it seems. The game, due this fall, will apparently boast a cast of more than forty playable characters, including Hidan, Asuma and Kakuzu. If history (and Namco Bandai's typical behavior) is anything to go by, more characters may well be added as DLC later on.
You can expect them to appear stretched out over the three available story campaigns as well, each taking place from the perspective of one of the main cast members. I presume Naruto and Sasuke will be two of those perspectives. Who would be the third, though?
And unlike Ultimate Ninja Storm 1, this game will be online-enabled, with quick, custom and ranked matchmaking, as well as leaderboards. It'll finally make all that point and cash-grinding worthwhile. Finally, all the practice time I put into playing the first game and unlocking people will be have been well-spent.
Anyone planning to check it out?
