A Daily Dose of Battles: Shin Getter Robo vs Getter Robo

10:00 AM on 01.28.2013

Let's literally kick things off with our first themed Daily Dose of 2013! The week, your favorite Japanator editors let you know which famous anime battles get their adrenaline going, fists clenched, and showcase what we all crave. Epic battle sequences. Pull out the popcorn and prepare for a trip down memory lane. Don't see your anime being represented? Let us know your favorite scene the comments, and I'll do my best to post the most popular reader battle scene at the end of the week!

Salvador G Rodiles - Getter Robo Armageddon Episode 11

"Among many pilots that put their soul into controlling giant machines, the Getter Team are among the top. In fact, they are the guys that invented the whole combination sequence that influenced most giant robot animes nowadays. And why is this relevant? Because this battle shows the hard work and guts that Ryoma, Hayato, and Benkei put into mastering Getter Robo's Getter Change, a maneuver that puts your life on the line.

Despite the Invader's cheatery after being out-combined by the real pros, the music that accompanies Shin Getter Robo's ultimate attack is one that soothes the concerned soul after almost witnessing the team's destruction. It may not be the ultimate hotblooded fight of the century that leaves you with manly tears, but it's one of the many battles of Getter Robo's various incarnations that proves to us that Ryoma, Hayato, and Benkei are a force to be reckoned with."
