JT totally stole this one from me!

Let's literally kick things off with our first themed Daily Dose of 2013! The week, your favorite Japanator editors let you know which famous anime battles get their adrenaline going, fists clenched, and showcase what we all crave. Epic battle sequences. Pull out the popcorn and prepare for a trip down memory lane. Don't see your anime being represented? Let us know your favorite scene the comments, and I'll do my best to post the most popular reader battle scene at the end of the week!

Josh Totman - Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion

"If there is one battle that sticks in my head, it's this one. From the first time I saw it way back in the late 90s on VCD, it had my jaw permanently on the floor. The emotion and revelation that happens in this fight is good enough for me, but when it comes down to just pure ass kicking, Asuka never disappoints. Picking up a battleship and using it as a shield to taking a missile to the face nothing could stop her. Even the mass produced Evas were no match for her. She tore them all new ones in no time flat! This was some over the top gore for being just "robots". Needless to say, Asuka just didn't have enough juice left in the end.

This fight had me at the edge of my seat and still does to this day. I can't watch it without being in awe of it every time."
