I was really excited to catch this whole phenomena known as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu this entire trip. Finally when the night came, I approached the whole concert cautiously. The girl has become a bit of an icon and a brand, with people often comparing her to Lady GaGa and Katie Perry. Her videos were pretty awesome, but a bit too sweet for my J-Pop tastes. Her fandom in Paris was apparent when we walked into the crowded enthusiastic room filled to the brim of Kyary's fans, ready to hear her belt out her famous, Pon Pon Pon.

What I witnessed made me an instant fan. If the word Kawaii has ever needed to be used somewhere, it can be applied liberally to KPP. We also had a chance to sit down with her and were pleasantly surprised by the girl behind the sensation. We'll post that whole interview up early next week, as well as another song from the show.
