A Daily Dose of Music: Macross Week
Last week celebrated the 30th anniversary of my favorite anime of all time, Super Dimension Fortress Macross. Full of action, robots, romance, and humanity, Macross was a space opera tour de force. One of the things that really made Macross stand out for me was definitely the music. In each of the series, the power of music was always a central point of the show. This week we take a look back at some of the most memorable moments. It's no secret that I'm not a fan of 1994 OVA series, Macross Plus. I can't quite put my thumb on it, but the show just never resonated with me like the other series. At the time I attributed it to the lack of Haruhiko Mikimoto's character designs, but I definitely got down with Macross Frontier. Regardless, I have to admit that I was totally taken in by the Yoko Kanno composed, Voices, brought together beautifully by the lovely voice of Akino Arai. Perhaps I need to give the series another try after all these years? Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
