A Daily Dose of Music: Macross Week
Last week celebrated the 30th anniversary of my favorite anime of all time, Super Dimension Fortress Macross. Full of action, robots, romance, and humanity, Macross was a space opera tour de force. One of the things that really made Macross stand out for me was definitely the music. In each of the series, the power of music was always a central point of the show. This week we take a look back at some of the most memorable moments. Ah, Macross 7. I can't remember a series that I initially hated so much, but grew to love. I mean, I hated it at first, in the worst way. One of the amazing things about the show was how it really did focus on music, and the power of it. People may argue that the series took the idea too far, however you can't argue what great music came from the show. While people may enjoy the power rock songs of Basara Nekki. It was always Fire Bomber's Mylene Flare Jenius's songs that moved me. I mean, who wouldn't be completely taken in by the child of Max and Miria? The track Dakedo Baby was used as the shows's second ending, and always gave it that nice cool off. Also, Mylene's designs always really showcased Haruhiko Mikikoto's beautiful design, especially the eye work. Did you know?
