A Daily Dose of Music: Old School Thursdays
For this week's Old School Thursday, we're going waaaay back. All the way back to the ground breaking 1972 anime classic, Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. The show was aired in the states under the titles, Battle of The Planets, G-Force, as well as later releases of the remakes and original show. The show's iconic characters have also been featured in a few Tatsunoko spin offs, like Tatsunoko vs Capcom. I actually discovered Gatachaman quite a bit after the original airing, but was really impressed with the show's mecha and character designs, which were provided by Final Fantasy illustrator, Yoshitaka Amano. Needless to say, the Japanese version was much gorier and mature than the American release, but was still enjoyable. So today, we enjoy the second opening theme, Gatachman's Song, by Masato Shimon. Bow down to the God Phoenix! Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
