Every once in a while we like to put our collective sick brains together, and give you an insight into what makes us tick. This week the editors decided to pick up the guitar and jam out! Welcome to rock week! I'm a huge fan of various JRock bands, as well as the rest of the crew. What's got us playing air guitar around the office?
You can't stop the rock, and you sure can't stop Josh Tolentino! Japanator's war machine gives us a classic for our Thursday from J-Rocker, Tomoyasu Hotei. His rockabilly infused Russian Roulette was quite the Easter egg back in its day, and scared the utter crap out of me with its Onimusha 2 surprise more than once when the TV volume was left on too high! Sorry players of the US release.
'Actually, this isn't my favorite J-Rock video, but it's the first one that comes to my mind whenever anyone mentions it. Why do I remember it? Because it's the music video that plays if you let the PS2 game Onimusha 2 dawdle on the main screen long enough, and it was around that point in time that I started caring about Japanese music at all. Really, it's more nostalgia than anything else, but Hotei is effin' awesome anyway."
