A Daily Dose of Music: The Classics
With this entry we are wrapping The Classics run on the Daily Dose. We might not aways choose the most popular, or even great songs, but songs that have reverberated with us. J-Pop and music in anime sure has a strange way of sticking with us, often times more than our local music. We hope you enjoyed the last couple weeks as much as we did, and the nostalgic rush you feel when your favorite old school Japanese song comes on. Hiroko Yamamura - Orange Mystery - Hideyuki Nagashima - Kimagure Orange Road "Man, this one was hard to pick. You'd probably expect me to pull a sci-fi, mecha classic out on this one. However, my heart always and forever belongs to Kimagure Orange Road. When they introduced Orange Mystery as a the second season's opner, I was hooked. They really used music in a way I hadn't experience in anime before, whimsical, emtional, and carefree. Looking at the show know, I can see how the designs look dated, but... if I were to ever recommend a classic anime with sweet 80's rock. Orange Road would always be it." Did you know?
