Well, to be fair, the actual Gundam statue only makes up a small part of this latest time-lapse footage project by Youtube user mockmoon. Nevertheless, this awesome film stands as one more hurrah for the giant statue, which will soon be taken away, perhaps to some secret Earth Federation facility to become fully operational and ready to strike.

Mockmoon uses what's called "tilt-shifting" when creating the time-lapse footage, which apparently involves changes to camera movement and depth-of-field to give the impression that the viewer is watching a diorama. It certainly succeeds. When looking at the Gundam portions I feel like I'm seeing the first scale models rather than the real thing, as if I was reserving a condo or something.

The video itself was filmed from the observatory area of the Museum of Maritime Science, also located in Odaiba. It features, aside from the Gundam, some pretty pools, lawns, city views, and a great-looking sailboat. Hell, that style can even make parking lots look great.

Watching one car move from one space to another space in high speed gives me a warholian realization. I hate/love reality. Does anyone feel it? Who really knows? Watch: Hard Day's Night. NOW.
