A new Gatchaman anime is slated to air this summer

An interesting looking reboot

In some surprising news, it looks as though the 1972 classic anime, Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, is getting a heavy facelift and reboot. A few tantalizing images have surfaces on Kenji Nakamura's take on the series, Gatchaman Crowds, and yeah... everything looks a bit different. A totally new take could be just what the 40 year old series could be needing!

There is also a live action movie slated for this fall, which has also been a bit of a mystery during its production. Being an old school Gatchawoman myself, I'm quite exited for any Gatchaman goodness that I can get. I hope all the plans go though this time, unlike the ill-fated 3D film that was scrapped a while back.
