Good ol' Fangoria got an exclusive trailer for the North American release of the first live-action Death Note, in which some remarkably poor actors introduce us to the idea of Death Note...in English! But the movie itself won't be dubbed; it'll have Japanese and subtitles, [edited to prevent another friggin' sub v. dub comment war]. I don't know why Viz thought its target audience would need to hear a one-time thing like this in English, as it explains nothing about the plot itself (what's a shinuhgawmee?) that you wouldn't already know as a fan of the series, and frankly, as a diehard Death Noter, I thought this adaptation blew monkey chunks. However you can make Death Note boring, they did it! But those of you with nicer views of these things should still go see it and support the company and stuff. I'll just be rerererereading the manga.
Seriously this is a messed up trailer. The editing felt off, and it felt rushed. Kinda have mixed feelings about this one. Maybe its best to recommend everyone to watch it in its formal japanese language (*with subtitles).
