Adaptation GET: Persona 4 anime confirmed photo

As was rumored and hinted at, there is, in fact, a Persona 4 anime adaptation in the works, and you can check out its website here.

Besides the announcement, of course, the page features the "First Four" cast members of Chie Satonaka, Yukiko Amagi, Yosuke Hanamura, and the protagonist, who, interestingly, is called "Yu Narukami", rather than "Souji Seta", his name from the manga adaptation and the currently accepted "canon" name.

So far all the voice talents from the game will be reprising their roles, including Yui Horie (Bakemonogatari's Tsubasa, Kampfer's Akane) as Chie, Ami Koshimizu (Spice and Wolf's Holo, Code Geass' Kallen) as Yukiko, Showtaro Morikubo (Naruto's Shikamaru, FF7: Advent Children's Kadaj) as Yosuke. And yes, despite his general silence throughout the game, he did have a voice actor, in this case Daisuke Namikawa (Black Lagoon's Rock, Bleach's Ulquiorra).

The series will come courtesy of studio AIC (Blood+, GUNxSWORD), directed by Seiji Kishi (Seto no Hanayome, Galaxy Angel Rune). As is only correct and proper, Shoji Meguro will be composing the music, and Shigenori Soejima will be providing the character design.

With these details in mind, you may now commence bitching and moaning that this isn't Persona 5 or Persona 4 Portable.

The fuck I want a persona 5!..

Actually in all seriousness I have yet to finish any of the Persona games and thought the last Persona anime was a total mess. Hopefully this one will make sense.
This is adapting the actual game story now!

I am excitededed!
Awesome, can't wait.
I assume that Atlus themselves will reveal Pesona 5 soon, probably while the P4 anime is running.
I'm ok with the new Main Character name, Yu Narukami, since it has a hidden meaning to it.
OH MY GOD DO WANT! I love Persona 4, and everything involved with it. I can't wait to hang out with everyone again. Chie Satonaka is my homegirl for LIAF.
I want to be happy, I really do. But it is an anime based on a video game and is being directed by Seiji Kishi, who while is my favorite comedy director (Doing both Seto No Hananyome and Sunred), doing anything other then a comedy isn't his strongest suit.
Cannot wait! Though I should probably try and actually finish P4 before it airs XD
I'm definitely liking this news. I didn't get a chance to hear Ami Koshimizu's performance in the game, so I'm excited for a chance to hear her as Yukiko.
Do you reckon they'll pick a romance for the protagonist?

It has to be Chie.
@Rush Well it would depend on how they structure the side-stories and what reason for Yu (MC) to have a interest in a girl. Of course we could just imagine who the romance will be I SAY Naoto! :D
Nice, I expected it to be either an anime or P4P (if it were for the 3DS, that would immediately make the handheld a must-buy). Looking forward to seeing how they pull it off.

Also, Naoto ending is mandatory.
Void Quest.
I hope it will be good. Trinity Soul wasn't bad per say, it just didn't capture the persona of persona(get it?). It's something to hold out hope for. Though I would like to have an Amagami SS like set-up where you have several episodes focused each heroine. I'd buy blu-rays for that. Not going to happen, but one can dream.
Wow, nice Chie pic!

Just my opinion, but I always thought of the Lovers arcana as the canon love interest. I suppose that was more P3 than P4 though, and again that's only my opinion. I just hope they pick SOMEONE instead of making it a harem deal where they don't have the balls to pick a girl and upset any of the fans.
I really hope he goes for Chie - the first girl I ever maxed out a social link for :-)
really don't care for a P4P. kinda tired of atlus doing that now with the games that aren't even that old. bring on persona 2 though.
bluuuuuuuuh too much persona talk today

Gonna watch anime for Naoto. That is all.
Here's a teaser:

All this good news is gonna make my head burst
cautious optimism GO!

this COULD be very very good, seeing as the persona game are always well written. at least we'll have kickass music from Shoji Meguro in it, so its not ALL bad.
I actually never finished Persona 4...The game has been sitting in my "to do" pile for more than a year now...I just liked Persona 3 better, it would have been nicer if that one had been made in an anime...
confirmation AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If they make Chie that hot, count me in.
What, no one anticpating Rise?

Wait wait wait wait. Do we get Rie Kugimiya as Rise? I take back everything I said before, count me in!
Even if this turns out to be crap, anime = merchandising, so that's awesome. There's so precious little Persona 4 merchandise out there.
