Anime Boston is one event I wish I could have made this year, but unfortunately my schedule wouldn't let up enough for me to fit it in. If anything, I'm sad about missing the Kalafina concert. I'm sure people who got to see it had a blast. In the meantime, a few bits of news managed to pop up during the event. ADV went ahead and announced that they currently have no plans for Blu-ray, citing their lack of faith in the market for the format. They went on to state that unless the title is huge, or if Best Buy fails to show interest in stocking the product, Blu-ray simply won't be an option. I'd say it's certainly a shame, but completely understandable from a business standpoint. Investing in high definition formats can be quite costly.
Still, you have to wonder if the issues the company experienced in recent years played a factor in deciding to hold off on Blu-ray. I know they're better off now, but how better off is the question. While, I know that I'd buy blu-ray if it were an option--and many of our other wrtiers would as well--I'd like to know is how many of you have access to blu-ray players, and if not, some other form of HD medium. If you could get all your anime on blu-ray, or at least streamed in HD, would you care?

Standard DVD is good enough for me. No inflated Blu-ray prices or sucking up to Sony.
