It seems that no matter what industry professionals like Dai Sato seem to think of it, shows like K-ON remain massively popular with the core otaku crowd and aren't going away anytime soon. So what else is a license owner to do besides ride that gravy train all the way into the station? Yes, merchandising is where it's at, and we've moved beyond the sensible limit as to where to stop with it.

How about a K-ON tie to impress your boss at the next big meeting? He's sure to confess his love for all things Mio when you strut in wearing something that looks like it stepped out of an anime-hipster's nightmare. Better yet, wear it with this garish shirt that just repeats the same K-ON images over and over and over again. And why stop there? If you have Casual Fridays, slap on those K-ON sweatpants and show them who the biggest fan of Ho-kago Tea Time is! Maybe even the K-ON shorts if it's hot outside!

Major props to the marketers for the K-ON sandals. They pop out of a foam guitar, which is a neat tie-in...until you wonder what you're going to do with a foam guitar that's missing its middle section. Best not to think about these things too carefully, or your brain will shoot out of your ears in an attempt to escape the madness.

MOAR Otaku Goods:

Legacy Comments

So we're just going to ignore that shows like Durarara also have ridiculous sweatpants, fans, jackets, sandals, phone covers, Mail Blocks, and stencils as well, are we?

Character Goods know no genre.

The most ridiculous character good I've ever seen were Lilith Socks, and that's from the very serious Evangelion.
@ EpcotServo

Still doesn't change the fact that these are horrible designs. And the sandal-guitar is stupid.
-_- I want one of the ties.......I know I=fail but what I do really want are them earphones you guys posted a while back. I really really really want them.
what i wouldn't give for a pair of comfortable slacks that are presentable to the outside world...
I want one of those ties.
I would like the backpack , everything else is ewwww
I would actually wear the sandals, though I agree that the guitar is kinda pointless/worthless
Omgawd I so want those shorts, they're so cute 0o
Yamakan was right, everything is going to shit.
I'd have all the ties (except for Mugi's). Have you got a link to actually get this stuff?
@ bobmarleypeople

Sorry, the source blog didn't have any direct links to articles. I'd recommend hitting up import shops.
I think the iPad cover is nice. I kinda hate how all the ties (but Azusa) have their mouth wide open.

But that shirt....it's like having a huge arrow on you.
Eh, i don't see the shirt being any worse or better than those shiny and flashy big dbz shirts they sell at hot topic. I wouldn't mind wearing one on a weekend.

If those shorts are swim trunks, I'd consider a mugi or mio. Since I swim mostly only around family anyway.

And I'm honestly thinking of ordering a pair of the htt sweatpants.i only ever wear sweats to bed, and then design ismpretty subtle and unobtrusive
Oh my god. These are an primal eldtrich abomination of design. Just looking at them causes the inner artist within me to claw at the surface of my very being in the desire to escape the confines of the physical body and escape as far as possible from these hideous malformities.

Why do clothing designers always think anime and video game fans have bad fashion sense? It takes more than just slapping a character's face repeatedly on a shirt to win over those with any degree of good taste.
Since it's been a long time since I gave a damn about what other people think of my clothes and choice of hobbies, I'm getting some of those shorts and ties.
@Gee-Man

I design and make my own anime t-shirts..
Are does sum K-On!! shorts!?

DO WANT
The shirt looks it the ones I used to wore when I was 5 or 6. But they got Dick Tracy images instead. Mio tie is pretty rad though. I want it!
I'll buy that god damn shirt fuck you all
According to yesasia.com, most of these are out of print. As "collectables" you might be able to find them on ebay due to the economy, but as a collector I would probably sell everything I own before selling my UJ14 statue, as an example. BTW sandal guitar is awesome, and I would totally wear that shirt.
...because hawaiian shirts are way too tasteful.
I would wear all of it at once and watch the world burn
Utterly disgusting. I don't want to even know how many of you already ordered it already...
I would like to get the backpack and the sweatpants.
Someone shoot me, now! These are awful, beyond the iPad case. The ties scream NERD!, as does the shirts. Fortunately, while I'm an anime fan, I have a sense of fashion. This is anime fan fashion at its worst. Don't fall for it, and be choosy.
