The fourth installment of the fantasy Harvest Moon series has finally been given a month for its release. At the moment, you can expect the game to come out in July, for Japan that is (Look forward to a western release in the near future.).
However, the most important piece of news for today, is that you will have the option to marry certain bosses in the game. You heard that right people, now you can have relationships with those powerful monstrosities that you have gained victory over. But doesn't that sound a bit wrong, considering that they were hideous creatures to begin with? Well, you are in luck my friend, as certain bosses that you defeat will turn into a cute girl or a handsome guy (Which eliminates the concept of any strange fetishes.).
I am actually not too surprised about this outcome, since I remember that the third Rune Factory had a plot about trying to get humans to coexist with monsters. I guess they are following up with that theme in the fourth game as well. While I have only played through the first game, I can see that the series has come a long way.

Remember that Strike Witches movie that was announced a while back? It turns out that it's finally releasing in a little over a month. I honestly forgot that it was even in production, since my brain normally files things like "girls strapping jet packs on their legs, flashing their panties, and growing cat ears" under the "Not Necessary Information Whatsoever" folder. But no, it's coming out in Japanese theaters on March 17.
To get people hyped, Kadokawa has released a 2-minute trailer for the film. To my eyes, it looks pretty similar to the TV series, not really looking very cinematic or having improved animation. Then again, I couldn't say for sure, since I didn't really watch Strike Witches. You can judge the trailer for yourself after the jump, along with a synopsis of the film.

Take a look at this picture, doesn't it warm your hearts? I bet that these guys are complete and absolute bros -- if any of you guys pictured here are reading this, I would love to be pen pals. This image certainly makes me feel a whole lot better about the prospect of getting my chores done today. How is this news you ask? This picture was just featured on Japan Today, it's clearly important -- well, at least it made me smile.

JUJU is back with a touching winter ballad. Man, her new video for sign sure is depressing, but definitely accents her lovely song. What does your winter music selection look like? Happy songs to remind you of warmer times? Or do you like to wallow in the colder days?

In Japan, excessive gore is a big deal. While we're fine with it here in America (outside of a few political pundits), Japan has been cracking down on it when it comes to videogames. As a result, Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture's latest game Lollipop Chainsaw will be censored when it releases in Japan...unless you fork over some extra cash.
Suda51's latest weird offering will be available in two editions. The normal option is rated CERO D, the highest you can get without being rated CERO Z, the equivalent of an M for Mature rating in the US. However, if you buy Lollipop Chainsaw's premium edition, you get the option to toggle between CERO D and CERO Z modes, restoring all the glorious gore that would normally be missing.
CERO Z games are heavily regulated in Japan, with retailers forced to keep them hidden from sight for fear of children seeing them. This means retailers aren't very keen on stocking them at all, due to the low sales from lack of exposure. This way, retailers can still carry the game, but those customers who know about the difference can ask for the uncensored version, provided they have the extra dough.
Of course, no hardcore otaku would be be caught dead buying the regular edition, so hopefully Grasshopper Manufacture can keep up with demand. And since it's been announced that the Japanese game includes an English voice option, there might be a few additional import sales, despite the fact that Warner Bros. will be publishing the uncensored game in the US. Anyone thinking of getting Lollipop Chainsaw early?

If you happen to be around Akihabara from Valentine's day (Feb.14) through Feb. 29 this year, you're in luck! Now you could take your Love Plus girlfriend on a date from your device to 7-Eleven via their download service 7-spot, eat chocolates together (they will give it to you virtually, but you might be lucky enough to snag some real chocolate handouts from the store) and play some Janken against her.
What's in it for you, oh honorable 3DS owner that will presumably be equipped with New Love Plus? Wallpapers, extra little clips and clear files, pictures of your girlfriend in a 7-Eleven uniform, and like I mentioned before, (possibly) free chocolate. Who could resist? I know I'd take Nene (sorry, Rinko fans!) on a date over there posthaste if I had...well, tickets to fly to Japan, and a 3DS, and a copy of New Love Plus.
Those of you lucky enough to meet all the criteria could thank Konami for setting up this lovely bonus. You could also thank these lovely people for the information I've reiterated in this post. The rest of us could just cry with our consoles at home because we won't get to take our girlfriends to 7-Eleven.

Oh boy, it's a big week, guys. There's release after release waiting for you down below, and a lot of it is stuff that you'll want. Looking for some Sengoku Basara? That's out. More box sets of Gundam 00 and 0079? Gotcha. Oh, there's some Arakawa Under the Bridge and Xam'd, too.
On the manga side, Viz is having a field day. Library Wars, Bleach, Blue Exorcist, Bakuman and many more are all hitting the shelves. Expect them to dominate the New York Times' bestsellers list for a while to come. The only newcomer on the list is Devil and Her Love Song, which is about a girl who's been burned by love before, but some of the guys at her new school will try and reform her. Good luck and godspeed, gentlemen.
Check out the full list below, and as always, let us know what you'll be purchasing this week.
