AIBO continues to fight for its life in Tokyo Jungle

AIBO continues to fight for its life in Tokyo Jungle photo

I spent much of the early 2000's dreaming of one thing, one day owning the Sony AIBO. Sony little premium robot represent a lot of the technology ideas and affluence I thought I always wanted. Alas the sweet little guy was discontinued in 2006, and I never did get myself one. Welcome to my little pity party.

Well, imagine my surprise today when I discovered the little guy is fighting for his life in Sony's bizarre animal survival game for the PS3, Tokyo Jungle. Apparently you choose and animal in a post apocalyptic future, and fight for your life against the elements and other animals. You can't kill AIBO! All that will be left is a T-800 and AIBO, just chilling with their buddy Skynet.

Dragon Ball Z BATTLE OF Z is an awful name. Far be it from me to judge Bandai Namco's naming sense though.  What is BATTLE OF Z you ask? It's the latest Dragon Ball Z game from the folks over at Bandai Namco, and it's sl...

Final Fantasy X/X2 HD looks real pretty

I'm genuinely impressed with the work Square Enix has been doing on its HD rereleases. I grabbed Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX the week it came out here in Japan, and was stunned by how great it looked on the PS3. Assets were ...

JoJo All Star Battle is the most fabulous game not at E3

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle is heading to the PS3, one of the "old" consoles. But I'd bet good money that even after E3 is over, after Microsoft and Sony have blown their game loads all over the internet, ...

This Tales of Xillia English promo is big and dramatic

I played Tales of Xillia back when it first hit Japan a few years ago, and at the time I wasn't sure how I felt about the experience. It's not the best overall Tales game this generation; that pleasure goes to Tales of Vespe...

Dragon's Crown opening is filled with slow zooms

Vanillaware's upcoming Dragon's Crown is so close to release that I can taste it.  It tastes like a rare and delicious cheese. The opening to Dragon's Crown has hit the net, and it's full of slow zooms and booming ...

New Atelier Escha & Logy trailer is super duper spiffy

Go West! Week Forty-Nine: All the Shmups

Come one, come all! Welcome to the latest edition of Go West!, your [occasionally] weekly column about Japanese games that probably won't ever be released out west. This week? Uh... well, some games I guess.  In any case, let's make like a tree and get this party started!

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles announced for NA and EU

Despite my love for the Tales series, I've never played the much acclaimed Tales of Symphonia. It hit the Gamecube at a time when I had lost interest in the console (for silly reasons), and just got away from me.  ...
