AKB48's Sayaka Akimoto to star in NHK drama photo

It has been revealed that AKB48 member Sayaka Akimoto will be starring in the NHK drama Asadora Satsujin Jiken. The performer will be playing the role of Miho, an assistant for a morning television producer --how meta is that? In the drama, Akimoto's character is ordered by her boss to dispose of a mysterious daruma doll. As part of the instructions she is given a "ghost countermeasure manual", so you can imagine where things go from there.

The drama was written by Hokimoto Shinya, director and writer for the Comedy Unit Isokawake troupe. Asadora Satsujin Jiken will be NHK's first "multi-channel" series. The show will be broadcast via multiple TV stations with one central channel airing the show's main storyline. At certain points, sub-channels will air exclusive scenes filmed from different perspectives. NHK has yet to announce when the show will be airing.
