Say what you will about Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution Soccer; some avid anime/manga fans have made the most out of the game, despite a number of criticisms about gameplay framerates and copy protection. They did what any normal fan with an excess amount of spare time would do: skin the player's faces with those of popular anime characters.
Of course, there's the obligatory Lucky Star team with their colored hair and scary eyeballs, but the opposing team has a very interesting blend of characters. Among its ranks you'll find Death Note's L and Ryuk, the girls from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Yoda from Star Wars, and some crazy Evangelion action. Lastly, bringing up the rear is "Gatchapin Shine," who is easily the most frightening player of the bunch.
These two teams square off in a friendly and bizarre match of soccer that could only come from the minds of anime and manga fans. This video has somehow singlehandedly sold me on the game, though I don't know if Konami would be that impressed with it.
