Andrew W.K. parties hard with Gundam, album due out September 9thThe Gundam 30th anniversary is getting some pretty big fan fare. There's of course the giant Gundam standing over Tokyo, a new anime series in the form of Gundam UC coming this winter, and now a new album by Andrew W.K. entitled Gundam Rock. The new album will feature English-language rock covers of past songs from the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam series, including both themes and background tracks. The real treat though will come where he will dub the original series' narration and the famous "Sieg Zeon!" speech by Gihren Zabi. As amazing as Andrew W.K. is, I still don't think he can top Gackt's rendition of Gihren's speech, and then getting a group of fan girls to chant "Sieg Zeon." Gundam Rock is set to drop with 16 Gundam covers on September 9th for the price tag of 2500 yen. You can currently preorder the album on CD Japan. In addition, Andrew W.K. will also appear on the Gundam tribute album, I, Senshi, alongside Richie Kotzen, and Gackt. I, Senshi will come out this month on August 21. Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Haha, Andrew W.K. is just awesome. Especially with the Party Party Party song in Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Indeed. I only wish Cartoon Network hadn't gotten him to promote the fact that they don't like showing cartoons anymore. I like Andrew WK. This sounds like a ridiculous idea, and Andrew WK is also kind of ridiculous (both in good ways), so I'm looking forward to this. this will be different. also, didn't he become a motivational speaker or something? I remember the I love the new millenium poking fun at him. 8:00 AM on 05.20.2013 Backlog Episode 01: Mobile Suit GundamLike a lot of folk who buy anime, I have a bad habit of purchasing shows and not watching them. 8:00 PM on 03.25.2013 Relive your kitbash dreams with Gundam Breaker's trailerI have to say, Gundam Breaker's core conceit is pretty awesome, and just goes to show how much of a cultural institution Gundam is that its own owners don't bat an eye at acknowledging the fact that most of its hyper self-se...
