Fashion shows seem to be all the rage in anime conventions of this era. Anime Central of Chicago, Illinois did not want to be behind the times so they created one as well. Called “Khaotic Kouture”, it took different styles of Japanese fashion, and threw them together in one fantastic show. Like most other anime fashion shows, this one makes use of attractive otaku females as their models. This is so much better than using some super hot model that is just here for the money, and wouldn’t want anything to do with us.
What was great about Khaotic Kouture are the completely different fashion styles they decided to show off for this show. Decora, which is happy, colorful, rave-like. Visual-kei, which is punk rock and pretty boys, Steampunk, which is Victorian attire mixed into science fiction, and Lolita, which is little kid attire on grown woman. So far I’ve been to two convention fashion shows, and this was perhaps the better one visually, though didn’t have Strong Machine to make it epic. Check out some of the girls in the gallery below, and remember, they are one of us!
