We stopped dead in our tracks when we saw the above cosplay, from the anime Gurren Lagann. Impossibly detailed and impeccably scaled, this cosplayer gave us and other photographers the best poses to go with his great get-up.

Kaminas, Simons and Yokos ran up to join in for photo ops, but they all paled in comparison to this amazing cosplayer. The detail extended all the way to the fingertips and the joints between them, and watching how each piece of the suit moved against another was impressive.

On top of all of this, this suit featured some slick functionality. A hand could be removed to equip an actual to-scale drill -- and the drill was fully functional. The chest-mounted sunglasses could also be removed and used as a weapon.

We asked him to point to the heavens and he did -- and everyone around stood back in awe.
