Studio Ghibli's next feature film, Arrietty the Borrower, has a firm date for release in Japan: July 17th. The new film, based on Mary Norton's children's novel, will hit silver screens across Japan this summer.
A Japanese TV program this past evening revealed some new details about the film and some footages. If the screen cap in the gallery below doesn't look like the UK, that is because this adaptation will be set in Japan.
What excites me the most about the film is that the director, Hiromasa Yonebayashi, is only 36; supposedly Miyazaki and company have planned to adopt The Borrowers for nearly 40 years! I can't wait to see what the new talents from Ghibli will show us!
If you want more, the official site has been updated with new information as well. She's a fierce-looking little thing!
