[Artist Alley is a new feature that updates about every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, showcasing sick-ass Asian-flavored pics and sketches from rad artist on websites like Pixiv, Illust, Drawr, DeviantART, Futaba and more, spanning from not only Japanese artists, but also Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese and even inspired artists from the US and UK.]
Yeah, weird name for an artist, huh? That's what I thought at first, but I honestly couldn't care less with art like this backing it up. This stuff is incredible.
It shows that Candy Village specializes in scenic pieces, though it's the depth of field and splash of color in the backgrounds that brings life into their work. Sure, it might not compare to stuff seen in Makoto Shinkai films, but I like the simpler (comparatively) things from Candy Village in its own way. There's something about teenage girls staring into nothingness that fancies me, I guess... Check out the Pixiv account here, and more pix under the jump.
