There is a lot of cool things about art. Probably the most basic thing about it is that it's, like, pretty and stuff.

You don't really need to be sophisticated to appreciate an artist's abilities. Hell, our entire readership is here because we all enjoy what Japan can do with art, and how animation can move us so much that we allow ourselves to have this unhealthy fascination with it. And with so many talented people in the world that we don't know about who can do more than "just draw really well", I feel there should be some more attention brought out to them.

Artist Alley will update about every other day each week, showing off the talent that Asian artist on websites like Pixiv, Illust, DeviantArt, Futaba and more can create, spanning from not only Japanese artist, but also Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese and even inspired artists from the US and UK. Expect just small, bite-sized posts to help you get through the day.

Today, I don't have much room to write about him, but maydell creates some really stunning and macabre stuff. The use of bright, strong color and the rough lines left over on some of his sketches give a sick, unique vibe to his work.
