Artist Alley: Shirow Miwa[Artist Alley is a new feature that updates about every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, showcasing sick-ass Asian-flavored pics and sketches from rad artist on websites like Pixiv, Illust, Drawr, DeviantART, Futaba and more, spanning from not only Japanese artists, but also Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese and even inspired artists from the US and UK.] It's weird, but so far on these Artist Alley posts, I haven't promoted an already established artist or an instantly recognizable name. Absolutely, it's awesome to spread the word about criminally underrated talent, and I'm doing what I can to-- most importantly-- show you guys genuine quality art, but after all that I'm looking to expose to you as many different styles and vast practices numerous artists employ while making their sick-ass stuff. So if I can be a little bit greedy, today's post is about one of my favorite artists of all-time: Shirow Miwa. Obscurely, you may know him for illustrating the manga Dogs, though (and more probable) you may recognize him as a the designer and illustrator of the band Supercell. His original work with Hatsune Miku, as well as the fan-made stuff he's done for things like Monster Hunter, Persona, Street Fighter, Devil May Cryand more, are just far too incredible for my simple words... you just must get an eye-full for yourself. If you're liking what you're seeing (how can you not?), Miwa has a website that you can peruse about, as well as a Pixiv gallery full of crazy, delicious stuff.
