Atlus might stick a Norse spear in gamers' ears photo

Of course, that's hardly a bad thing, since in Japan picking someone's ears (with consent) is considered a sign of intimacy. The spear in this case is shaped more like a trademark, one filed by Atlus for "Gungnir" and also the name of the Norse god Odin's favorite pointy people-killing device.

Odin's a common feature of Atlus games, making appearances in the demon/persona roster of nearly every Megami Tensei release, shown as above in his naked, purple-skinned, Piccolo-esque glory. Siliconera wondered if the name might have any connection to Odin Sphere, another Norse-themed game, but that was developed by Vanillaware, who've licensed their work out to other publishers besides Atlus. Plus, in that game, Odin fought with car-sized fists.

What could it be? A new IP? A pachinko machine? An Atlus-published sequel to Viking: Battle for Asgard? What do you think will be tipping the trademark?

Atlus doing anything pretty much has my interest.
As of late I've become an Atlus fanboy so I'll probably end up buying it no matter what it is.
