Bakemonogatari vol. 4 sells like crazy thanks to lolis

Bakemonogatari vol. 4 sells like crazy thanks to lolis photo

Bakemonogatari has been selling like crazy recently. In fact, each Blu-ray disc has sold better than the last. The first volume sold 29,000, the second 39,000, and the third 41,000. That's huge, but now the just-released volume 4 has sold 48,000 copies in its first week. The only anime Blu-ray that has sold better in its first week is Evangelion 1.1: You Are (Not) Alone -- which sold 49,000 copies. Given that hype train is so huge for this show, I'm actually surprised we haven't seen a second season officially announced (although we've had plenty of leads and rumors) -- or even those last two web episodes. Seriously, SHAFT, is it really that hard? I'd bet with all those sales you could hire a few extra people.

Anyway, I digress; the most important thing? This volume 4 covers the Nadeko Snake arc. You know, one that infamously had huge chunks cut out, with just the audio left in? Yeah, that's all fixed. Actually, you could say it's more than fixed. If you're into lolis and, uh, snakes, this Blu-ray will certainly fill that little void in your life. Just saying.
