Well, the effects of the economy are creeping their way into our anime markets, with nothing much that we can do about it. Over the weekend, there was some hubbub on twitter and in the Bandai source code, but I was too busy being sick to catch all the news. With the mysterious messages and hints at people losing their jobs, there's also some more immediate impact for the fans.

Namely that the LE of Lucky Star Volume 6 and the Gurren Lagann Best Sound CD have been put on "indefinite delay," which I think we can just chalk up to being canceled. According to Rob's blog, the LE versions of Lucky Star have been selling rather well, which means that they were just too expensive to make, and Bandai needed to cut some costs.

My condolences to the BEI staff who are no longer working there. Hopefully something will come along soon.
