The dub vocals i thought were solidly bad, but I do like the scripting.

That's like having Lucky Star without Konata!!! It makes no sense because it's part of what it fundamentally IS!

To HELL with worrying about the dub! Spend that time talking to Bandai instead and get something worked out!! This is ridiculous! I mean if they can get along overseas where it was made then why can't they even try here??

That's a dealbreaker. People are too afraid of litigation to push the same envelopes that the Japanese do. Aren't simple references to things protected by fair use anyway or is there something I don't seem to be getting?

From what I understand, the Gundam series and Keroro Gunsou are both animated by Sunrise so they are able to use references to the former with impunity. Dubbers don't get that luxury or something, so they either have to censor it like in Hayate no Gotoku! or take chances. Incredigay, if you ask me.

The lack of Gunpla references are only the beginning of what's wrong with it.... The names are mangled to hell, and they took out 'Keronian' and 'Pekoponian' as well, two phrases beloved by fans.

I'm friends with a LOT of Keroro fans, and next to no one is happy about the Shin-chan treatment it's getting. In fact, a lot of the people in the U.S. who like Keroro are long-time fans, and they're reasonably livid. The voice actors are pretty good, with the exception of the guy who plays Kururu.. -shiver-

I know I fell in love with the series because of how very clever it is... It seems like a lot of that is lost in their translation. I am glad they're giving us the chance to get our say, but.... There's a LOT of work to be done yet.

I can understand the Gundam licensing issue, though I'm not thrilled about it. I refuse to accept the Shin-chan style treatment, though.

It makes sense for Funimation to do it if it will get TV exposure for the show, but they're losing me as a potential buyer unless they somehow manage to include a faithful subtitle track.

@The-Excel: I realize that if they did it without talking to them would be bad, all I'm saying is, what's stop Funimation from sitting down with Bandai and working something out? It's not impossible!

Also....as much as I love dubs and have even been known to love bad dubs (I love the Higurashi dub btw), I cannot stand this dub....at all. Too many things to say, not even going to bother trying to start.

No Gundam references = loses some of its humor.

That announcer's voice is awesome, but Keroro & Tamama's (is it just me, or does he sound like one of Shin's friends from Shin-Chan??) is meh. Geroro (Zoro from One Piece?) & Kururu's voices are good, but I miss Kururu's "KUUUUU KU KU KU" laugh. I must admit, the script is good (I loved what Funimation did with Shin Chan) & there's some good humor delivered from it (especially from the announcer). Natsumi (mom from Shin-Chan?) is alright, but sounds older than she really is...Also, Natalie? One of the basic things of keeping truthful to the original is keeping everyone's name unchanged. I also found it odd that they left out the extra syllable (i.e Geroro is just Gero).

I wish they did an episode that included everyone since we don't know what Fubuki, the mom, Momoka, Paul, Koyuki, Moa, & any other characters I've missed sound like.

Overall, great scrip, some good voices but some could be changed, names need to be changed back, & Gundam references need to return.

The voices themselves aren't bad, but I agree with the lack of Gundam jokes. Why didn't Bandai Ent get this?

Not having seen any Fansubs before hand or read any of the manga I thought it was great.

Ill stick with the manga, one of the few things Tokyopop is doing right.

I've not seen any Keroro Gunsou either I thought it was decent at best. Announcer was funny but I could tell there was just something missing in it's humor. Also I love me some Christopher Sabat :D

I enjoyed it, not sure if I enjoy it enough to continue to watch it though.
I think I'd rather read a manga of Sgt. Frog. Perhaps I'll give the sub a watch and see how that sits with me.

Half of the point of the show is his obsession with Gunpla and how it distracts him from taking over earth. I'll give it a chance but I have doubts.
