I think there was little doubt amongst us that read the Naruto manga that it would soon be coming to an end, but according to author Kishimoto, there's plenty of life in it yet. In a discussion with the character designer of the Naruto anime about how long they are to expect the series to last, Kishimoto replied by claiming there was at least a year and a half to go.
Both the anime and the manga are caught up in the war arc at the moment, but there was quite a fair bit of speculation that this would mark the end of the ramen-loving ninja's adventures, and that we'd get the Naruto versus Sasuke fight over with towards the conclusion. Apparently not, unless this really is going to be a great ninja war. That, or he's taking lessons in dragging out a series from none other than Tite Kubo.
Whether this is good news or bad news should be immediately apparent to you. I mean, you either love it or hate it, right? I've been following the manga for a few years myself, but I can't say I was too fussed that it seemed to be ending. If it really does end up going on for another year and half, I do hope it has some big plans in store.
