I'm not saying that I'm not behind this whole green movement. Actually, I'm not, it's just that I'm crazy about food, and all the rest matters very little in comparison
Green or not, this bento-making Flash game is pretty cool...to a point. If you're a foodie like I am, you'll get a thrill from throwing together awesome ingredients with a click...and then a disappointment from seeing how many calories your fantasy lunch is.
For me, my fantasy lunch today was:
- a double portion of ketchup-flavored chicken fried rice
- a large portion of tonkatsu
- a side of fried shrimp
This bad boy, pictured above, came out to a reasonable 682 calories. The cost? Only 334 yen! The cost to the world in terms of carbon output? Well, it seems that a space the size of 34 parking spaces would be needed to offset the CO2 output that went into my meal. Am I going to worry about that? Nope. Even steamed rice with a side of pickled cucumbers requires 8 car spaces to offset the CO2 output.
I'm just going to live in a fantasy world where the carbon effect doesn't matter, and where ketchup-flavored chicken fried rice is in my lunch every day.
