Black Butler getting a live action film adaptation

5:47 PM on 01.08.2013 // Elliot Gay

Don't know if want.

So recent news has revealed that a live action film adaptation of Yana Toboso's manga, Black Butler, will be hitting Japanese theaters this year. Playing Sebastian will be Hiro Mizushima, with directing duties handled by Keiichi Satou and Kentarou Ootani.

I'm really not sure how I feel about this news. A lot of the charm of the original manga series is in the location and primarily British cast. This is one of those properties that I truly think could have benefited from an international cast. Unfortunately, it's pretty obvious that this isn't the case.

The film will tell an original story, according to sources, and the production team is looking to start filming in April.

More info as it becomes available.
