About
Marcus is a dude who says anime is for nerds and nerds look good with a fist in their eye socket. His idea of having fun is being that guy you'd buy a beer for first, then wax anime wisdom with later. He (un)ironically listens to gangster rap and chicano, loves awkward comedy, digs the cheesy, high school anime rom-coms and can edit a mean video together using computer wizardry. Also, I'm pretty sure he can mop the floor with anybody in an old-fashioned game of Super Smash Bros. Melee. Samus Aran. All day, err' day, baby.

He likes Production I.G., Madhouse, Corgis, Mega64, Seattle, Kenji Kamiyama, Canada, Detective Conan, Mac Dre, Amp Energy Drinks and loves Takako Shimura manga. He also reeeally loves terrible YouTube videos.

He hates North Korea, memes, itchy shirts, broken legs, Hetalia, Toddlers and Tiaras, and Zack Snyder

Hey, Japanator, I hate you for all of these terrible ads you guys put on the front page. I mean, come on! You should just skip advertising sucky anime from now on and focus on other anime. You know...good anime...the ones that I like. Put on more ads for Baccano or The Legend of Legendary Heroes or something! Those are way better anime to advertise! Fuck paying bills! You guys need to listen to me!

Long story short, I have an opinion, and therefore, 98% of everybody has the same opinion. That's a FACT!

--Love,
Marcus

For some reason I always think that title says DRAGONAGE.
Boobanot must be a good show since it is both a Gonzo show and has the character designer of Witchblade. Oh wait...
I use a huge sidebar, so I generally can't see the side ads.
The least I can say is that the link stops where the picture stops. Some sites have annoying practices for their ads, like the clickable hyperlink part running down the entire sidebar, the entire width of the page, so if you, say, click into a window from it, you'll sometimes advance to the site being advertised. Another irksome trend is how merely rolling over some ads with your mouse - even quickly! - expands the ad and/or starts playing a video with sound, and you have to manually click a small "X" somewhere on the ad to close it/make it stop. I don't block ads because I want the sites I visit to get revenue from my passing through, but damn, ads like that sure make me want to block 'em all sometimes.

Most of the anime site skins I see here and at ANN are for series I would never buy in the first place (that one that talked about "Must-watch anime series essential for any collection" had none that I'd even consider recommended watching, to say nothing of "essential buying"). But hey, gotta pay the bills and keep those lights on. The only qualm is when stuff like the Sekirei ads flash me a face full of boob with an attention-getting pink background, which is...not a hot combination when browsing the site at work.
I like ads like this one... they don't tempt me to spend money and don't flash their crotch at me the best of both worlds.
Ha! Be careful man, they might strip you of your intern-powers! lol

They put up the 'not-omg-good' animes because those are the ones that need help, I guess. Big well-known ones.. not so much. It's funny though, most shows I purchase are not through advertisements at all, but rather from.....

various random occurrences..
... We have a background? I don't see it...

ADVERTISEMENT FAIL!

^ That's what I ended up having to do with Ikki Tousen.
“Giant floating heads in space for the win.”
I'm 97% of the site. Also, don't blame the site, blame the advertising services that provide them.
Well, this blog really back-fired. :/
You'd think people would know you well enough by now to know you're being sarcastic. Oh well. Maybe you just need to be less subtle.
Sadly, people buy moar of the shity anime. Thats how it always is, no matter what the medium. It Sure would be awesome if It was nonstop Monster and Mushishi, but great shows like those don't get as big of a following as fanservice shows like Sekirei or Fighting Anime like DBZ. Just look at the movie industry. Avatar is the highest grossing (when adjusted for inflation) movie of all time, was it the best? God no. Not even top 5 of the year it was released. it's just that weather it be advertising or the work itself, hyper profitable things almost always appeal to the lowest common denominator. Think of Avatar or DBZ like buckshot that tries to hit as many targets as possible while Monster or No Country for Old Men are .308 Winchester rounds made to hit much smaller targets, but with exponetially greater force.

I think you need to permanently label on the top of all of your articles "I AM BEING COMPLETELY SERIOUS HERE" so hopefully it'll get so meta sarcastic people will finally get it.
You're fired.
Good anime doesn't need ADs.
@Brad
Aw, sheeeeeet....
Welp, that's the end. So long, folks!
is he serious? lolz
Your problem is that you try too hard to be subtle. This isn't Destructoid, you know.
@The-Excel
Goddamn it, you're right! But I'm fired forever, so it doesn't matter anyway.
I call dibs on your position.
LOL. 98% of people DO NOT share your opinion. You fail, unless this post was made in jest, in which case you WIN.
Baka, buddy, you really need to read the comments.

Forget on every post, maybe that should be the slogan under Japanator: Don't take Marcus so seriously.
I agree with marc, but putting out said awesome ads would not be economically sound. sadface.jpg
