Bon Jovi in Japanese Final Fantasy commercials?
by Dale North, 10/28/2009

Heh. Why not?

American rocker Jon Bon Jovi is working with Square Enix in a strange co-promotion that we're finally getting to see for the first time.

It's pretty damned weird. Just like in any other Japanese commercial that features popular music, the name of the artist pops up on screen. But instead of being the Japanese names I'm used to, it says "Bon Jovi."

Watch on as Bon Jovi music accompanies Wii videogame footage. Only in Japan, right? It's actually a promotion for his music, an upcoming single named "We Weren't Born to Follow."

Japan gets Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers on November 9th on the Wii. Bon Jovi? I don't know that they'll ever "get" Bon Jovi.
