Burger King debuts the Angry Whopper in Japan with a screaming contest

Burger King debuts the Angry Whopper in Japan with a screaming contest photo

Japan is a McDonald's nation, through and through. Mos Burger, KFC, and Mister Donut all have their presence there in Japan, but McDonald's seems to be king of the fast food world. Burger King? Not so much. It's there to serve the Nick Chesters of the world, but that's about it. There's not much they can do with only 16 stores in Japan.

Well, according to the L.A. Times, Burger King is rolling out the Angry Whopper with an "angry shouting contest" in the streets of Tokyo. Yesterday, people would shout things such as "I need to get a girlfriend!" or "Professor, give me my credits!" to passersby in Shibuya, where about 100 people were gathered to scream their frustrations away.

I think it'd be a little unnerving to shout your frustrations and personal problems out to the crowd of people passing by, all for a hamburger. But I guess this is the least violent thing they could do for the contest.

I enourage you to check out the L.A. Times article, which has a bit of a history of the burger wars in Japan, and how Burger King is just making its attempt at a return now. It's actually pretty interesting. So, I may as well ask, since this topic comes up at every convention: which fast food can you stomach eating?

None?

Lol, no. As healthy as I try to be, I will still eat Jack in the Box and L & L Hawaiian Barbeque. Both, sadly, are mostly West Coast chains, so I always get stuck following my mother to Chick-fil-a when I go to Georgia. I also have a soft spot for Taco Bell.

The best fast-food salads, however, come from Baja Fresh. Seriously, the mango chipotle salad ALMOST makes you forget the guilt of eating light at a fast food place.
man i wanna whopper so bad right now; i'm hungry damnit!
I eat way too much McDonald for my own good. I also eat a lot of Subway since there is one across the street from work.
Wendy's.
Im willing to eat at any burger place if im hungry, especially jack in the box or carl's Jr.
This is the manliest burger I ever saw.

Curry Refills at Coco Ichibanya in Japan

After reading a recent article about getting free refills of curry sauce, I had my doubts. I completely trusted in the news, do not get me wrong, but it seemed too good to be true. There had to be some catch. I mean, seriously, we are talking about getting free curry sauce here. Join me as head into my local Coco Ichibanya in rural Japan and try to ask for a second helping of their fine sauce.

Japanese Snacks: The ice cream with my name on it

These are Japan's favorite snacks

Japanese snacks are great. And it looks like even the Japanese know that, too. Or at least, just under a thousand of them do. According to a poll of 906 people, Glorious Nippon prizes five snacks above all others. Because all it takes to count the millions that live there is 906 people, right? Check out the five Japanese snacks to rule them all below. Will Pocky be among them?!
