What's your favorite Gundam TV series? Wait! Before you answer, know that no Universal Century series will be accepted! Such was the question and limiting parameter posed to over five thousand internet people by a random poll when it asked to vote on their favorite series from Japan's Heisei era - basically from 1989 onwards. 

And the winner? As you can see in the headline, it seems Gundam 00 took top honors, with Gundam W and Turn A Gundam in 2nd and 3rd. V Gundam, the only post-1980's Universal Century series, took middling 6th, behind After War Gundam X and Mobile Fighter G Gundam (Master Asia is displeased!). Perhaps it's telling that, 00 aside, it was the most recent Gundam shows that did poorest. The currently airing Gundam AGE is stuck in 7th, and Gundam SEED and SEED DESTINY bottomed out at 8th and 9th place.

I can get behind seeing Gundam 00 get the props. At least compared with most of its immediate siblings it seemed a more progressive and distinct entity, at least on the surface, and has some of my favorite designs of the entire franchise. The Exia is so sexy.
