Let us bow our heads in silence for this blow to the American anime industry. As of Monday, Central Park Media, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. According to Crain’s New York Business, the company owes 1.2 Million dollars to its creditors, and they want their money back now. Chapter 7 bankruptcy code does not necessarily mean the company is doomed, but that’s most likely the case. They have to cease operations and liquidate everything they own.
Central Park Media owned many different labels underneath it, such as Software Sculptors, U.S. Manga Corps, Asia Pulp Cinema, and Anime 18. The anime it has licensed in the past are as follows: Grave of the Fireflies, Utena, Mobile Police Patlabor, Record of Lodoss War, Slayers, Night on the Galactic Railroad, Project A-Ko, Dominion Tank Police, Descendants of Darkness, Demon City Shinjuku, Urotsukidoji, and (our favorite) La Blue Girl.
This is the final nail into Central Park Media’s coffin. It has been rumored to enter bankruptcy mode for a long time now, and finally it has come into fruition. Let us hope that all those who lost their jobs get jobs elsewhere, like FUNimation for example. *Looks at FUNimation with puppy dog eyes*

It's a pity, they have some great titles that really needs to be rescued.
