Check out a preview of Winter Sonata (hint: it's going to be sad)

Check out a preview of Winter Sonata (hint: it's going to be sad) photo

I have no idea why I'm considering watching this season's anime adaption of the 2002 Korean drama Winter Sonata. I already know that the source material is ridiculously sad, but for some reason I feel this fatal attraction to the show anyway. I guess I'll get out my hanky.

Anime News Network reports that the official site is now streaming several teaser trailers for the show,  one three minute trailer and a few one minute trailers.God, it looks pained and dramatic. Why do I want to watch this again? As ANN describes it:

The original 2002 drama follows a girl named Yu Jin Jung and her male classmate Joon Sang Kang as tragedy and angst befalls them and those around them in the years between high school and young adulthood.

Swell. For fans of the original drama, you'll be pleased to know that original leads Bae (Kang) and Ji Woo Choi (Jung) will be back to reprise their roles. The show will premiere on the Skyper! SkyChan HD and DATV channel in Japan this October 17. I hope I make it through the first episode without sawing at my own wrists.
