It seems that more companies are starting to enter the frightening market of localisation, and after seeing some great games like Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom and Corpse Party make it over the pond it's easy to get excited about more companies getting involved. Nyu Media are getting ready for the release of their latest localisation effort Cherry Tree High Comedy Club, and it certainly looks like an interesting one!
The aim of the game is to increase the number of people interested in joining the comedy club, as the student council won't allow a new club to start without a minimum of five members. To do this you must explore Cherry Tree Town, making friends and increasing your conversational skills to make it that much easier in recruiting new members. It's an interesting take on the visual novel genre, and if Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale taught us anything, it can definitely be a good thing.
After a few unfortunate delays, Cherry Tree High Comedy Club is now back on track for release on April 27th, and you'll be able to pick it up here in a little over a week. It will also be dropping on popular distribution services including Steam, GamersGate, GameTap, GameFly, Impulse and the Capcom Store in the near future. You can find out more about it on the official website, and there is a gameplay video after the jump.
