Clock Up: Musou-style Kamen Rider game gets a trailer
In light of the news revolving around the new Kamen Rider game for the PS3, I am actually worried about the final product. The last time that we got a Dynasty Warriors-like game for a toku series was when Namco Bandai released Super Sentai Battle: Ranger Cross for the Wii. Based on random playthrough videos of Ranger Cross, the entire experience felt like an excruciating ordeal that shattered my burning spirit. Back to Kamen Rider, Namco Bandai's first trailer shows off a cinematic sequence where Decade, W, OOO, Fourze, and Wizard square off against Apollo Geist and an army of random minions from the franchise. There are also other Riders present, but it would be best that you see for yourself, since I don't want to ruin the surprise. Overall, the trailer does a great job in showing off the motorcycle and combat elements that they were egging on about. However, we still need to see how it translates into actual gameplay. Let's hope that the actual game gives us a variety of dynamic combos, along with actual stages that let us take advantage of the game's features, since Ranger Cross failed in both departments. Judging from the few seconds of gameplay shown, chances are that I will end up eating my own words. Before I forget, the new game will go by the name of Kamen Rider: Battride Wars, and it will be available in Japan on May 23rd for 7,480 yen. If you are willing to go the extra mile, you can save up for the Premium TV Sound Edition that comes with 30 songs from the Rider shows present in the game (such as W-B-X ~W-Boiled Xtreme~, Life is Showtime, and NEXT LEVEL) for 10,480 yen. With the help of the custom soundtrack feature, players will be able to use these songs in the actual game. [via Henshin Justice] Did you know?
