Comiket 76 gets rolling, the anime trailers start flowing in
by Josh Tolentino, 08/14/2009

The 76th installment of Comiket, the biannual otaku event, has begun! News, doujinshi, goods and everything otaku is up for glorious consumption. It is the place where artists are found and rise to prominence, and where otaku bankrupt themselves on the glorious, hideous glut of content, cosplay, and cool consumer crap.

Naturally, it would be the best place to start hawking the latest and greatest new anime, as trailers for hot properties have been fished out of the convention floor maelstrom. If you don't mind a hell of a lot of background noise and some shakycam effects, hit the jump for videos of the new Shana OVA, the Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works movie, A Certain Scientific Railgun (adapted from the Index side story), the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha PSP game and movie, the overly-bouncy To Love-ru OVA, and more!

Personally, I'm stoked for the Unlimited Blade Works movie, for three reasons:

  1. People tell me that UBW is the most epic of the Fate storylines.
  2. The fight animation is pretty sweet.
  3. The trailer shows PIMP ARCHER.
