Complete Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Second Gig set coming out November 20th photo

IGN got word that Manga Entertainment will be releasing the complete collection of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Second Gig on November 20th. The box will sell for $99.97 come in a spiffy looking case.

As a gigantic Ghost in the Shell fanatic as I am, I still haven't watched the entire Second Gig yet so I will be definatly be picking this box set up. This is a great deal too considering that the regular edition DVDs cost about $20 on average -- saving you about $40 overall. I have to wonder why people would purchase the regular DVDs when this is the case almost everytime.

Do you usually wait for the final box or buy the DVDs as soon as they come out?

depends if i really want to watch the show ... or wait a year or so to get teh entire series. i ussually get the dvds individualy ... just incase teh show sucks ass i can just have like ... 1 or 2 dvds instead of the entire series ... like i did with brain powered ... huge mistake ... b/c that show sucks. but it is nice to have a complete box set of dvds of shows that u never bought the dvds for.... like elfin laid... or kinos journey... etc. etc...

is this the SAC and SAC 2nd gig ... or just 2nd gig?

Waitasec, I thought we already had the Second Gig complete set... unless this is an American release as opposed to the set in Britain...

Box sets are good for shows that have ended long ago and you don't own any DVDs of that show yet. Box sets rarely include any swag like the special edition DVDs, which is what I always try to get. So if you asked me if I would prefer to get the single DVDs instead of the boxset, the condition would be that there is as much content on the single DVD as the box set DVD _but_ if there is still a special edition available of the DVDs, I would get that instead. Not to mention that boxsets come out only after the last DVD was released, and it might just be a too long wait...

Amazon.com is letting you buy it for $75, which is an even better deal.

 


deepdiscount.com is $60 which means if I wait till the inevitable x-mas coupons come out I can grab it at around $50.

I always wait for the box set, except for FMA I grabbed those tins....mmmmmmmm delicious tins!
 


Yeah I never pay for the individual DVDs. I've probably already watched the fansub so I just wait until the boxset comes out and buy that for much cheaper. :D Even if I haven't watched the fansub, I just can't make myself spend $40-100 more for no reason. I don't care about "extras".

 


It was a pretty old podtoid where they were talking about everyone changing their user names.
