Not counting OPs and EDs, little Cafe has only appeared in one episode: Yumeiro Patissiere episode 6. Some would say that I'm moving too fast; that maybe I should wait until he's spoken more than three lines in his entire anime career to declare my feelings. However, he's devastatingly charming, dashingly dressed in the smartest of attire, wields a golden spoon, sports tiny angel wings, and can be considered the patron spirit of coffee-flavored sweets. Any female coffee fiend who doesn't immediately admit to feeling weak in the knees is a filthy liar.
Sure, that Kazahaya from Kimi Ni Todoke is a pretty smooth operator, but until we see evidence of either a)wings or b)coffee-related superpowers, Sawako can keep him. My heart belongs to the man who can conjure an espresso brownie out of thin air. I mean, I've never seen him do that, but I'm sure we will once he gets a little more screen time. I have a kind of sixth-sense about these things.
Cafe, I can't tell you how much I admire you for breaking up the constant arguments between Vanilla and Chocolat; it must be quite a strain, but you bear it so gracefully. I'll bet you take care of that vulnerable little Caramel as well, don't you? It seems like something you would do.
Of course, all I've really seen you do so far is introduce yourself and break up one fight between your fellow Sweets Spirits, but your grace in that one instance was nearly palpable. Oh, and there was that one time you waved your spoon and produced a bunch of cakes, but I'm not sure if you made those, or if you just transported them from the kitchen or something. You have truly mysterious powers.
I was drinking coffee when you were introduced on YP, and that's when I knew it was meant to be. Of course, I tend to be drinking coffee whenever I'm watching anime, but it was still serendipitous, I think. Just imagine the things we could do together!
You could fly around my head while I drink coffee, taking a sip from the same mug when it suits you *blush*, or perhaps I'll just fill a bucket with French Roast, and you can take a delightful swim. I suppose I could spike the coffee with some Bailey's Irish Cream and see if I could get you to take off your little waistcoat, but what am I saying? It's not like that, really. What I feel for you is a platonic love, the love of two coffee drinkers in a world where people think that drinking Coke is somehow okay.
Now, should you want me to hold you close and inhale your heavenly aroma-- I bet you smell like hazelnuts- well, I suppose I could be persuaded. But I think what we have is is deeper than that, you know?
Is the world ready for love between a human and a Sweet Spirit the size of a small cookie? Who knows, but I can't wait to find out more about you, assuming that you ever get more than three minutes of screen time. I especially can't wait to find out whether or not you'll fit in my lipstick case. I just bet you will; I have a sixth sense about these things.
