Crush them, Giant Robo! Giant Robo gets a Blu-ray release photo

At any moment you should hear a loud roar as the ground shatters around you, because the Giant Robo OVA directed by Yasuhiro Imagawa the man that brought us G-Gundam is getting a 4k HD remaster on Blu-ray when October 26th covers the night sky.

Giant Robo's new Blu-ray box set will include all seven episodes of the series, a 100 page booklet (Most likely an art book or a book packed with production notes.), the soundtracks for all seven episodes, three hours of extra content, and the English dub that was done for the Media Blasters release of the series. However, this whole set is going to cost you 41,790 yen -- ouch! I guess Daisaku was telling Giant Robo to crush people's wallets this whole time when he summons him with his watch.

Since I am not sure how many people on here got to watch the OVA, Giant Robo is an adaptation of a manga by Mitsuteru Yokoyama. Instead of it being a direct adaptation, Giant Robo takes various characters from a bunch of mangas by Yokoyama and puts them into an original story that acts as an ultimate homage to his works. The aftermath gave us evil superpowered businessmen, ninjas, monks, giant robots, super spies, samurais, and a dramatic story that pits the forces of good against the forces of evil as the evil organization known as Big Fire unleashes a grand plan that guarantees their victory during the OVA's beginning.

If you are slightly interested, you can check out one of the trailers for the series in the section below. To those that don't mind owning it on DVD, the box set is still available in North America, which is a cheapest option for owning the series at the moment.
