A game with the title "If I Were Stuck With A Girl In A Sealed Room I'd Probably..." practically begs people to answer the question, silently, within the darkest recesses of their hearts, for to voice a response risks disaster.
Now though, it looks like D3 Publisher's given us a few hints as to what you'd be doing in their upcoming 3DS dating-sim-slash-escape-the-room hybrid. What you'll be doing is, mainly, writing on walls to give the three girls you have the hots for tips to help them escape their claustrophobic dreamworlds.
Your character Kouhei appears to the girls as a fairy in their dreamworlds, and besides helping them escape their locked rooms, you can use the 3DS' slide pad to do some leering and read their thoughts for hints to help woo them in the real world. For example, if a girl needs to grab something from a high shelf, you might write "chair" or "ladder" to get her to find something to step up with. And so on.
When you think about it neutrally, that doesn't seem so bad. Besides Scribblenauts, the mechanics remind me a bit of The Experiment or the 1992 TV show Ghostwriter*. With more upskirts.
All things considered, a lot of games with otaku-bait premises are actually perfectly serviceable. Record of Agarest War's saucy CG and "Soul Breeding" was merely otaku-bait laid on top of a decent strategy RPG. That seems to be the case with Conception as well, since's it's really just a dungeon-crawler when you excise the whole "get girls pregnant via PG-rated immaculate magic" concept. And the way things are looking Senran Kagura's 3D boobies didn't stop it from being an entertaining 2D brawler.
At least it's not nearly as creeper-riffic as Gal Gun or Doki Doki Majo Shinpan's witch-touching, and far and away less obscene than anything Illusion 3D can come up with.
*Watch the show's opening below. Now I suddenly feel old.
You know those "theater manners" videos they play before the start of a movie? They're always so boring, at least the ones that I've seen are. It's always dumb stuff like CG popcorn or some cheesy commercial about turning of...
